The Emerald Mountain Volunteer Fire Department is located in south Elmore County, Alabama and
encompasses approximately 30 square miles, near the Redland Community. The department is
a fully donor supported department and is housed in one station on the north side of
the Emerald Mountain subdivision. The mostly rural district has several small business
and 5 churches, in addition to several hundred houses. Hard work on behalf of
the firefighters has paid dividends in the form of an excellent ISO rating of 4.
The men of the department respond to all structure and woodland fires, automotive accidents,
search and rescue and to assisted ambulance helicopter landings. |
